Annual Meeting
Dear SAMS-NEW members:
Due to the recent development in Syria, the executive council has decided to suspend the 2011 annual meeting with the intention of holding it again helpfully in July.

Avicenna Journal of Medicine
It gives us a great honor and pleasure to announce the launch of the Avicenna Journal of Medicine (AJM) sponsored by the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) which is the first medical journal published by a Syrian society/University and indexed by the major bibliographic databases.
The journal was established to promote medical knowledge, attitudes and excellence in practice in all aspects of comprehensive health care and to enhance clinical and biomedical research by facilitating a high standard platform for publishing academic and community-based research.
Congratulations to SAMS Partners in Homs
Plasma-sy in Homs, the medical students website, has recently been honored for their accomplishments in a multi-level scientific research, student and social activities including SAMS online courses and mentorship program.
Online courses 3rd term
SAMS-NEW Online courses committee announces the successful end of the 3rd online courses term.
The course was directed to four different Syrian cities, with more than 100 attendee.
The course had achieved it goals with excellent reputation.
Certificates will be distributed soon.
The next course will be on Feb-May 2010

Residency interview training workshop from Chicago
The Online courses committee in conjunction with SAMS Midwest Chicago chapter is honored to invite the Syrian residency applicants and medical students to the Annual interview training workshop.
This year's workshop will be podcasted live to our teams in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Latakia

Upcoming Online Courses
On behalf of the SAMS-NEW online courses committee, we would like to inform you that the upcoming courses will be held in Oct-Nov titled " How to approach"
The new courses will be in more interactive way and directed to one group at a time only.
All sessions will be in case discussion format eliminating all didactic lectures.
